During the operation of diesel generator sets, it is common to encounter situations where the coolant does not circulate, including large circulation, no small circulation, or small circulation without large circulation, resulting in rapid cylinder temperature rise and sudden shutdown of the unit due to oil temperature rise, which directly affects the safe use of diesel generator sets.
1、 Large cycle diesel generator set
When the temperature of the cooling water reaches the set value or above (different engines have different requirements for the opening temperature of the thermostat), in order to control the engine cooling water within the specified temperature, the thermostat is opened at this time, and the cooling water from the engine outlet flows towards the radiator for cooling, and then flows into the engine cooling water channel through the water pump.
2、 Diesel generator set small cycle
When the cooling water temperature of the engine is lower than the opening temperature of the thermostat, the thermostat is in a closed state, and the cooling water at the engine outlet flows back into the cylinder block water jacket through the water pump for small circulation.
In short, the large and small cycles of a diesel generator set depend on the temperature of the unit, mainly to avoid the automatic adjustment function of the generator set temperature being too high.
